The Star House, Kuwait

Generally, when we think of Kuwait, we think of Saddam Hussain and an oil war. But I beg of you to please put all those thoughts behind you. In fact I’ve got a  little something that I think will help you move right along…

Behold The Star House…

The Star House Beach

Arrive on your boat. Naturally.

Nestled into the landscape, this beach house blends naturally into the coastline of Kuwait and slowly unfolds itself as you approached from the desert or the coast.

The Star House Pool

To infinity and beyond...

When you arrive, you get a glimpse of the sea whilst going down to the public space of the chalet. On this lower level, the house extends into the landscape and the sea, accentuated by an infinity pool in the garden. The private side of the house, located at the entry level, is concealed from the visitors. Bedrooms and private living spaces remain isolated from daily activities.

The Star House

The Star House by night is plain bliss

The initial design was master planned for three detached dwellings, each with extensive sea views while simultaneously achieving privacy from one another. The client, instead, opted for a single house, two bungalows and a boathouse, with this incredible garage stashed below…

The Star House Garage

For the love of science. Really! Really? Really.

If you like this home, best you take a look at some of these:

Mexican Villa to Die For

Mexican Villa

Oh my, what do we have here?

I couldn’t help myself sharing this exotic villa with infinity pool and spectacular views. Sharing is caring right?

Mexican Villa

mmm, a swimming pool and some palm trees!

Sure, it may be a little exorbitant, but I want to be inside this luxury pad worse than Steers burgers want to be inside me!

Mexican Villa

Infinity - one way to describe it!

The circular infinity pool as well as its phenomenal location make this villa a unique place for a getaway. Lets be honest here… no one’s gonna rev their car outside your window at 8 am and the likelihood of trick or treaters is minimal!

Mexican Villa

Simple and fresh.

The main house consists of three separate bedrooms, all having access to the infinity pool. You can be like “Hey, I’ll meet you in the pool”.

Mexican Villa

Then when the sun sets...

The villa can be rented for week-ends, so if you happen to visit Costa Careyes, maybe this post will actually come in handy?

Does the vibe get any better than this?

Right now, a moment of silence please.

Heavenly angel "aaaaaaaah" sounds right about... now!

Rio Home Worth Living In

Rio de Janeiro Home

Nestled perfectly in the woods.

A Brazilian architect named Marcio Kogan designed this home in Rio De Janeiro, Brasil.

Why am I sharing this with you?

Because I’m an architectural nutcase and this particular design embodies the unique organic architecture vibe of my favorite designer ever, Frank Lloyd Wright

Note the recessed glass sliding doors left of the pool

Love the way the forrest gobbles up the see-through space

Don't ignore the bridge leading off into the trees

Imagine snoozing on that rug next to a warm fire

Blending the outside with the inside is an art of note

Turning a coffee shop upside-down

This is D’Espresso, a tiny coffee shop on Madison Avenue in New York City…

Despresso Coffee Shop

Go on, tilt your head to the right...

The designers took the idea of a coffee shop that looks like a library and literally turned it on it’s side – awesome hey?

I just love the life-size images of books printed on custom tiles and how the pendant lighting sticks out from the wall instead of being hung from the ceiling! (Via)

Man Living in Giant Jabulani Ball

Get this: Some guy named Adam Santarossa is being paid thousands of dollars to watch the World Cup inside a giant football!

Man living in Giant Jabulani Ball

He was selected by Adidas to spend the month-long tournament watching football, tweeting and writing blogs inside the 20 foot (six meter) diameter Jabulani ball. Sweet!

Santarossa has a well-stocked fridge, bunk bed, PlayStation 3, and laptop, and will get $2,600 for his trouble, along with the contents of the ball and three bags full of sports gear. “I had a bit of trouble at the start – it’s a bit difficult having people peer in through the windows 24-seven,” he said. “But it’s a pretty easy life. I’m going to be seeing if they can extend my lease.”

Can’t say I would take the same deal! I would rather stay in the house from Ferris Buellers Day off or step into this amazing Carla Ridge Palace!

What a Pimp Palace!

Floating House in Seattle

modern-floating-home-1

This place is definitely not for those who have a water phobia or who mind seeing a few boats swinging nearby when looking out the window. It’s located in Lake Union, Seattle and has an awesome interior and exterior design. Its room structure was designed so that all the private areas like bedrooms and bathrooms be placed on the ground floor in order for the second story to be dedicated to one large entertainment room. Sliding doors reveal an outdoor terrace for relaxing and enjoyable views.

I could easily live here! Check it out…

Irresistible Spanish Island Villa

Just look at this luxury villa in Mallorca (the largest island of Spain)!

mallorca-villa-09

The overall size of the property, including gardens, is 1350 sqm with the actual home stretching 530 sqm across the plot. What does that mean? Simple – you get to enjoy a 180 degree view over the bay throughout the day to until sunset…

Buy the House from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

benrose1

Does the garage above look familiar? If you loved the 1986 movie “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” as much as I did it may ring a bell? In the film, the home belonged to Bueller’s best friend Cameron Frye’s father and housed a tempting red 1961 Ferrari 250 GTO (as selected by Seth Rotherham here) that Bueller and Frye took for an iconic joyride through Chicago.

Sounding familiar now? Remember the famous crash scene when they are trying to set back the counter by leaving the car in reverse, but accidentally drive it out into the ravine?

There you go…. see more pics of the amazing house and get some more facts
