Red Bull Racing Fu-hucks Up Everyone in Shanghai!

I’m not sure if you got to watch the Formula 1 this weekend? It was awesome! It was raining! And there were so many mishaps in Shanghai that four contenders didn’t even finish the race!

Vettel Wins Shanghai GP

Vettel leads Red Bull to maiden one-two victory in China

He did it in the wet for Toro Rosso at Monza last year. Now Sebastian Vettel has done it in the wet for Red Bull in China. Ze young German has scored the team’s maiden win after a rain-drenched Chinese Grand Prix, with team mate Mark Webber following him home in second.

Outpaced by the Red Bull cars, the Brawns of Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello had to find some kind of joy with third and fourth places. Boohoo!

Take a look at some of the action starting with the drama of Kubica running into and up the rear of Trulli’s Toyota:

Kubica rams Trulli

Piquet’s car snaps sideways and careers off, destroying a sign and the car’s nose:

Piquet Smashes Shell Sign

Having been in sixth place, Sutil’s car gets out of shape and pitches him head first into the tyre wall:

Sutil Crashes into Wall

Massa seems to suffer mechanical woes and grinds to a halt midway round the track:

Massa Breaks Down

Now thats action! Yeah!

And it’s a GO GO GO!!!

As the week winds up, I’m preparing to watch the boys in red kick some black and silver ass this weekend. If you’re on the same team, this should get you all revved up!

Shot way back in 1997, Shell used this video to push the boundaries of technical innovation with a groundbreaking display of courage and ability deep in the Mojave Desert. Formula One fans (regardless of who you support) and the general public were united in their appreciation of awesome refuelling advert!

New F1 Season. New F1 Rules.

Never before in the history of Formula One racing has a new set of regulations entailed so many technical changes. The cars not only look very different, they also behave much differently and demand more attention from the driver.

Watch this video sent in by The Stuntman to understand the changes and how it’s going to make F1 more exciting in the year ahead…

Also, be sure to enhance your viewing experience of the first race (Australia) this weekend with Live Timing. This nifty feature on the F1 web site gives you amazing statistics, times and race detail on all the drivers and cars LIVE during the race. I don’t know how I ever lived without it!

In the mean time, here’s a split view of how my teams car has changed since last year. Note the new mirror position, larger front wing and narrow rear wing:

Ayrton Senna Cruises a Lap Around Kyalami

Below is a video of Ayrton Senna da Silva (Mar 21, 1960 – May 1, 1994) racing around the Kyalami circuit. Check out the OLD Yellow Pages advertising on the main straight!!!

The Brazilian race car driver and three-time Formula One world champion was killed while leading the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix and is the most recent Grand Prix driver to die at the wheel of a Formula One car.

Ayrton Senna

Something I bet you NEVER knew: After Senna’s death it was discovered that he had donated millions of dollars of his personal fortune (estimated at $400 million at the time) to children’s charities, a fact that during his life he had kept secret. How Noble!
