AutoStitch App for iPhone

AutoStitch iPhone

Brings your pics together!

I’ve purchased and downloaded a lot of apps on my iPhone in the past year. But over time I’ve come to realise how much money I wasted on novelty junk allowing the real gems of value to shine through. AutoStitch is of the latter – a fantastic app that was worth every cent, works as advertised and adds a huge amount of regular value to my device.

AutoStitch iPhone is a fully automatic image stitcher. It unleashes the potential of your iPhone’s camera to create wide-angle views and panoramas with any arrangement of photos – horizontally, vertically or both!

Just look at what I shot this morning from my office window…

This app clearly has some advanced technology behind the scenes, but on the outside it’s very simple to use

  1. Snap a bunch of photos on your phone from a single standpoint
  2. Open AutoStitch, select the photos from your library and press “stitch”
  3. Watch AutoStitch go to work by stitching your photos together
  4. Crop, save, email or even post your panorama photo to Facebook

A few special features also add some extra value and are worth being pointed out:

  • Unlike the native iPhone email app, AutoStitch’s in-app email sends your photos at their full resolution
  • Blending options let you tweak your quality outputs where photos join one another
  • Auto-exposure settings assist with variations in brightness of your stitched photos

Get AutoStitch from the iTunes store here.

Wide Angle Lenses Let You Peep, Tom

We’ve looked at various camera and photography adverts in the past. This great advertising campaign from Omax, for their wide angle lenses, certainly gets an invite to the club!

Spying on the lunch picnic lesbians?

Omax-Lens-2

Sneaking a peek at the tourist tush?

Omax-Lens-3

Soaking up some the sight of holiday honies?

Omax wide angle lenses let you do it all I guess?

Panasonic Too Late With Lumix Ad

Panasonic has jumped on the face recognition bandwagon with their advertising. The message is smart, but it’s a pity…

…not only are they too late, but also less effective! Remember the adverts showing how the Nikon S60 Detects 12 Faces? Check them out!

Nikon S60 Detects 12 Faces!

These have done the rounds, but for some reason today is the day I felt they should be exposed. Why?

Because they are brilliant. And because my Sony doesn’t do this with so many faces!

SO which do you prefer? Thanks Monty, via Martine!

80+ Reflective Photography Wonders

Resources for inspiration are never slim. Just last week we looked at a bunch of Polar Panorama Pictures. Today we looking at Reflective Photography which I find really awesome! Reflective surface like water, rain drops, window glasses, mirrors and even your eyes can change something fairly simple to something creative or abstract or otherwise more artistic. You don’t need any special skills for taking such shots. It all depends on the environment and perfect timing.

What a great showcase! Now take a look at over 80 great example here.

Juice. Camera.

Alright, so this is a camera shaped like a juice box. mmm, that’s what I thought when I first saw it too.

Juice Bottle Camera

It actually comes in five bright flavors, including Strawberry, Sunny, and Supermarket Mania. Alrighty… …it’s got a flash (I’m shrugging my shoulders right now).

Turn Old Bottles Into Camera Tripods

How many times have you loaded your latest snaps only to find your finest shots all blurry and smudged? Now this could be because you were drunk, have Parkinson’s, or you’re just a an unsteady amateur photographer! Behold the solution:

Turn any water or soda bottle into an instant tripod with this ingenious Bottle Cap Tripod (or Uno-Pos as I’ve dubbed it). It’ll only set you back $11 (about R100) and you’ll have stable crisp shots for the rest of time! Grab one here.

Motion Blur Photography

I’ve been watching a couple of Time Warp episodes on Discovery channel and it fascinates me how things look at 20 zillion frames per second. These awesome motion blur photos fascinate me just as much so I thought I would share a bunch with you…

Slow Motion Balloon Pop

These images are achieved by leaving the camera shutter open for longer period, so the objects that remain still are clear and the moving items in the frame are blurred. There you go, you learn something new every day!
